This family resort offers comfortable weekend accommodations in our housekeeping cottages, group activities, private sandy beach, meeting or entertaining rooms, dining room, prompt service and good quality meals at an affordable price, great relaxing atmosphere for groups of 10 to 35 people. We don't claim to be fancy but we do give good old fashion service and hospitality. The resort is located on highway #35 north of Minden near all the activities that the Haliburton Highlands has to offer. The Loralea is a small family resort with banquet facilities, conference room and dining area, which gives us the flexibility to cater directly to your needs for your weekend getaway, family reunion, business retreats, or for any occasion your group wishes to entertain or celebrate.

Vacations for Groups - Family Getaway Activities

The Loralea is your Ontario get aways resort located on Halls Lake with seven cottages and studio cabins with access to the lake and beach area. Group vacation activities on site are volleyball, badminton, horseshoes, shuffle board, ice fishing, ice rink on lake and small toboggan run for the children. Activities close by for groups are downhill skiing, cross country skiing, hiking, mountain biking, access to snowmobile trails from resort, Haliburton Forest Reserve and many more that the Highlands has to offer. Examples of a Group Getaway - Activities & Cost

A euchre club of 20 members held their annual card party over a three day weekend in September where they played cards at night and toured the Highlands area by day. Some visited the Wolf Centre at the Haliburton forest, some visited friends they knew in the area while others took a canoe or paddleboat ride on our lake.

One of the advantages that the resort has to offer is flexibility to meals, use of grounds, activities and assets. You can have your event catered by the resort or do it yourself with help and guidance from us. Simple advantage of "do it yourself" is less cost to you and advantage of resort catering to you is more time spent on your group's objectives.

Meals for card club for the three days were a combination of local restaurants, pizza from nearby bakery, use of our dining room for a BBQ done by the club and a main dinner served by the resort in our dining room.

• Cottages and cabins - sleeping arrangements were made
• The conference room was set up for their card parties at night
• Outside deck was set up with BBQ's for "do it yourself" cook out
• The dining room was used for some meals
• The deck overlooking the lake was set up for picnics

Card party costs for function - three nights for 20 people;

• Took advantage of weekend stay for 3 and pay for 2 - $1690
• Full course prime rib dinner served in dining room @ $18
• $100 cost for resorts assets, dining and conference room, card members did their own cleanup daily, garbage removal and helped in arranging furniture and equipment to meet their needs.
• Cost was $107.50 per person for three days
• Taxes are extra
